Opening Day

just got a chance to look at the Mets schedule and they are opening on the road on a Friday night? What the F?  Guess what I will not be at the scout meeting on April 1st.  And then the home opener is a 4:10 start on a Friday afternoon. Who made this schedule. Opening Day should be a day game on a Monday. A day off. And then night games Wednesday and Thursday  leading into the first Friday-Saturday-Sunday series of the year.

Looking Forward

Ok, the Jets season is over ... now lets look forward to a similarly cursed franchise. Mets pitchers and catchers report in a few weeks and I for one am itching for that first Spring Training game (probably a month from now) and then onto the season.

Here are my Mets related goals for 2011

- Take NP3 to his first Mets game
- Get a picture of my both O and NP3 with Mr. Met
- Be a more active member of The Happy Recap (my post numbers are pitiful)
- Catch a foul ball
- Take the Citifield tour
- Punch Bobby Bonilla
- Update this blog regularly

Tales from the Naked Citi (field)

This is going to be the year that I follow my beloved Mets in blog form ... I'm not sure how its going to work. Its not going to be a highlight package form every game, but just the thoughts and words from one Mets fan.

There are going to be highs and lows and probably a lot of right in the middles during the 2011 campaign. Its going to be fun, with less than a month before pitchers and catchers report i am beginning to get excited. When I put a Mets t-shirt to go to the gym, or my baby wears a Mets onsie, or my toddler is wearing her Mets ski cap i am getting more and more pumped up.

Is 2011 going to end with me getting that Mets tattoo -the one I promised myself when the Mets win a championship - or me taking off the day from work to go to a championship parade? Probably not, but right now everyone is undefeated and no games behind. Its a time for possibilities, I'm going to enjoy the ride.
